Winter is in its last leg which means red chilli peppers are soon going to go out of season. This led me to buy them in bulk and look for ways to preserve them. Having made chili garlic chutney a couple of times, I wanted to try something new and found this really easy way to preserve red chillies on It’s Not Complicated. The method is mentioned in detail with clear instructions and explaining the use of each ingredient. I liked it so much that I ended up making two big jars of it. 😀Continue reading “Toasted Mushrooms, Preserved Red Chilies and Cheese Sliders”
In continuation with my previous post Finger Sandwiches with Cottage Cheese/Paneer Filling, here’s another simple tea sandwich recipe which is light on the palate and healthy as well. I’ve used homemade cream cheese made with freshly curdled milk. It’s super easy to make. Do give it a try, you’ll be surprised as to how easy it is to have your own cream cheese where you can control the amount of seasoning and fat that goes into it.Continue reading “Tea Sandwiches With Carrot, Cucumber And Cream Cheese Filling”
Sandwiches are a perfect delight to prepare. All you need is a sandwich spread and a few ingredients on hand along with your favorite bread. The only thing to keep in mind is that your sandwiches need to be moist. Every bite should be speak FLAVOR. Sandwiches are also prepared in different styles. It all depends on the kind of mood you’re in. Some are best consumed when messy like a cheesy grilled, some of them are toasted and can be relished like an open toast or a closed style, and then you have cold sandwiches, perfect for a picnic or with your afternoon tea.Continue reading “Finger Sandwiches with Cottage Cheese/Paneer Filling | Tea Sandwiches”
It’s Christmas time, which means the best time of the year has arrived 😀 and Christmas would be incomplete without food and sweets. I really wanted to share a nice recipe with you all which would be easy to prepare and suitable for this holiday season as well. My friends and I wanted to make something with avocados. Hope you all give it a try and enjoy it as much as we did.Continue reading “Easy Cheesy Avocado Toasts”
This recipe I have come up with is really simple. It requires very little cooking time and can be made in a jiffy. It is definitely nutritious, and we all know how healthy greens are for your body. Feel free to add your own veggies for your toppings like zucchini, mushrooms and bell-peppers. Red and yellow color would just make the topping more colorful and appealing. Green chili gives the topping a slight kick which is good. Do give it a try. It is delicious. 😉 Adjust the quantity of the ingredients according to your liking.
This is what you will need:-
Ingredients (Makes 3)
11/2 cup broccoli
1 medium-sized red onion (roughly chopped)
1 finely chopped green chili
A handful of green beans
A few sprigs of coriander
3 tbsp fresh cream
Grated Processed Cheese
1 tsp Olive Oil
Chili flakes, freshly cracked black pepper and salt for seasoning
- To make the topping, heat olive oil in a pan.
- Add onions and green chili. Sprinkle a pinch of salt and sauté on low-medium flame until translucent.
- Next, add green beans and broccoli. Sprinkle a handful of water and let it cook for 2-3 minutes. We want the keep the filling slightly crunchy. You can even blanch them beforehand and add them to the onions along with rest of the ingredients.
- Add fresh cream, seasoning of your choice and grated cheese. Mix well and add coriander.
- Place the topping on your toast. You can even use toasted garlic bread. Butter it and toast well.
Hello to all my lovely readers! 🙂
It’s been a while since I’ve posted anything on my blog. Reason being, I have been involved in a lot of travelling since the past two months. I stayed for about a month and a half in Sydney, and also got a chance to visit the calm and serene capital of Australia – Canberra. Apart from all the crazy fun I had during my stay in Australia, it has also been a great learning experience for me. My visit to Australia is definitely going to be one of the most memorable trips of my life. A visit to this place should be on top of everybody’s bucket list. I really can’t describe it in words how lovely the country is. There is something out there for everyone and nobody really can get bored at all. One has to see it to believe it.Continue reading “Vegetable Long Rolls”
This again is a very quick and easy recipe to prepare. Fried potatoes give it a much more different taste along with sauteed spinach and gooey mozzarella cheese and cream. All ingredients blend really well with each other and barely requires any cooking time. It is a perfect breakfast delight. Feel free to adjust the quantity of the ingredients as per your liking.Continue reading “Cheesy Potatoes and Spinach on Toast”
When I think of a juicy grilled sandwich, all it reminds me of is Ross’ moist maker sandwich in F.R.I.E.N.D.S. 😉 I am sure, Friends lovers would know which episode I’m talking about. A perfectly grilled sandwich should be easy to gulp down and each bite should be bursting with flavor.
Over here, caramelized onions are the essence of this sandwich. They give a perfectly smoked and intense flavor. They blend in really well with the cheese and the veggies and the sandwich tastes just yum!Continue reading “Cheesy Grilled Sandwich with Caramelized Onions”
Start your day in a different way. What say? 😉
This particular idea just came to me out of the blue! I think it is quite a fun way to pep up the way your sandwich looks. 😉 Give your plain sandwich slice a new twist. You can use different cookie-cutter shapes, involve kids in the kitchen! I am pretty sure they will enjoy making it too…I have used garlic bread here along with a savory filling!
How about dipping your cookie cutter in chocolate sauce for a chocolate (Nutella) sandwich! Dip it in jam for the PBJ Sandwich! I think options become limitless once you begin to use your imagination.
This is what you will need :-
Slices of bread
Sandwich Filling- Tomato, spinach, cottage cheese cubes, onion, butter, green chili, 1 tsp fresh cream, 1 tsp tomato chili sauce, oregano seasoning, salt and black pepper
Heart-Shaped Cookie Cutter
- Dip your cookie cutter into ketchup and place it on your slice HALF way through.
- Place one slice in your non-stick pan. Spread the filling and cover it with another slice. Toast on both sides and serve.
If you are making it for someone special– just for fun you can cut it in two halves and ask them to join it… Just like a fun message! 😉
I wouldn’t call this a unique recipe or some new creation. Instead, I just wanted to share with you all how I usually like to eat my noodles when I am totally not in the mood to cook a gravy along with them. 🙂Continue reading “Stir-fry noodles in a sandwich”
A sandwich is so versatile a food, that it cannot really have a fixed recipe. You can top a slice of bread with plain butter and it would count as a meal for breakfast. This is probably one of the reasons why I personally love bread so much. I can relish it at anytime of the day. It is my first sandwich post and I have made an attempt to prepare a picture recipe this time. Hence, I have made a very basic CHEESE (hmmm so, here is the little gooey secret 😉 ) sandwich. So, do pour in your thoughts. That way it will encourage me to improve on it and make better picture recipes. 🙂 So here goes:
A loaf of bread
Freshly Ground Pepper
Salt to taste
I also had some leftover jeera (cumin seeds) rice. I put that into the previous mixture. It turned out quite well.
I hope you guys have fun making it and of course, digging into it. :p
