It’s Christmas time, which means the best time of the year has arrived 😀 and Christmas would be incomplete without food and sweets. I really wanted to share a nice recipe with you all which would be easy to prepare and suitable for this holiday season as well. My friends and I wanted to make something with avocados. We could have easily gone with our good old Guacamole, instead we decided to make these easy cheesy toasts which I am really excited to share with all my readers over here. Hope you all give it a try and enjoy it as much as we did.Continue reading “Easy Cheesy Avocado Toasts”
Rice is one of my favorite ingredients to cook with and eat too. This particular rice dish doesn’t include so many ingredients. It has your basic ginger, garlic and green chili. Cauliflower tossed in garlic gives it a really mellow flavor. The Sriracha sauce on the other hand has the correct amount of spiciness which blends well with the rest of the ingredients. Do give it a try. It is really easy to prepare.Continue reading “Stir-Fried Rice with Sautéed Cauliflower in Sriracha Sauce”
We as human beings, are bound to make mistakes at some point or the other in our lives. Most important thing is to accept those mistakes, learn from them and try not to repeat them again in future. I guess that’s how one moves on in life and grows into being a better person. I remember my initial days in the kitchen. There are numerous kitchen disasters I have had from them till now. During that course of time I have learned so much and in fact still learning.Continue reading “Mushroom and Baby Corn in Green Chilli Sauce”
This dish is really simple and will just take you not more than 15 minutes to make it, as it requires very less preparation plus cooking time. It is definitely filling too. I won’t say the dish is healthy as the sauce does have good amount of butter and cream in it. So if you’re on a diet WATCH OUT, and as far as kids are concerned; they will definitely enjoy it. 😉Continue reading “Broccoli Rice with Cottage Cheese in Chilli Garlic Cream Sauce”
There are several ingredients you can add to your noodles. It all depends on the taste that you are looking for at that point of time. For now, chili lemon sauce sounded good in my head, so I thought of giving it a try. It turned out great. The recipe was flavorsome and nutritious too because of all the vegetables I added to my noodles. Although, this time I used store-bought red chili sauce, you can also make chili sauce at home. Here is the link to one of my chili sauce recipes – Cayenne Pepper Garlic Chutney. Lemon juice gives the recipe a fresh taste in place of adding vinegar.
Once again I would say the same thing I do for mostly all my recipes – feel free to add your favorite vegetables and you will definitely end up creating a new recipe which you’ll be proud of. 🙂Continue reading “Vegetable Hakka Noodles in Chili Lemon Sauce”
This recipe I have come up with is really simple. It requires very little cooking time and can be made in a jiffy. It is definitely nutritious, and we all know how healthy greens are for your body. Feel free to add your own veggies for your toppings like zucchini, mushrooms and bell-peppers. Red and yellow color would just make the topping more colorful and appealing. Green chili gives the topping a slight kick which is good. Do give it a try. It is delicious. 😉 Adjust the quantity of the ingredients according to your liking.
This is what you will need:-
Ingredients (Makes 3)
11/2 cup broccoli
1 medium-sized red onion (roughly chopped)
1 finely chopped green chili
A handful of green beans
A few sprigs of coriander
3 tbsp fresh cream
Grated Processed Cheese
1 tsp Olive Oil
Chili flakes, freshly cracked black pepper and salt for seasoning
- To make the topping, heat olive oil in a pan.
- Add onions and green chili. Sprinkle a pinch of salt and sauté on low-medium flame until translucent.
- Next, add green beans and broccoli. Sprinkle a handful of water and let it cook for 2-3 minutes. We want the keep the filling slightly crunchy. You can even blanch them beforehand and add them to the onions along with rest of the ingredients.
- Add fresh cream, seasoning of your choice and grated cheese. Mix well and add coriander.
- Place the topping on your toast. You can even use toasted garlic bread. Butter it and toast well.
Sometimes you wish for something and you get something else in return totally unexpected. That is how unpredictable life is. I believe food and life are very similar to each other. You can make anything out of it. Be it a complete mess or something nice and beautiful! Something worth tasting. 🙂 Usually, you need a particular sauce to go with your plain boiled pasta. But, what if you don’t want to make any? No worries, this pasta I’ve made here doesn’t require you to make any kind of sauce and is quick and easy to prepare. Oh! And of course, delicious too. No compromising on taste. Feel free to use your own choice of vegetables.Continue reading “Easy: Vegetables in Penne Pasta”
Mushrooms and rice go really well together. You can add various other vegetables like green beans, carrots, cauliflower, etc. to make a different version of your own. I usually don’t like to keep a fixed recipe. Most of the times I add ingredients according to my taste buds at that point of time. That way one can come up with fresh recipes every single time. Hope you all like this one. 🙂

These fritters are definitely for people who are fond of spicy food. The heat from the fresh green chilies hits you right on the palate combined with the sweetness coming from the corn kernels and onions along with the mellow flavor of mozzarella cheese. They all blend really well with each other resulting into an amazing recipe!Continue reading “Sweet Corn and Cheese Chili Fritters”
The subtle flavor that comes from the brinjal fry combined with a thick tangy tomato sauce just makes this dish so flavorsome and tasty. It does require quite a bit of preparation just like any other Indian curry, but it is just worth the time spent. Nevertheless, it is easy to make and tastes best with a mild dal (lentil) and jeera (cumin seeds) rice – A good combination! Hope you all give it a try and I am sure you all will definitely like it. 🙂Continue reading “Brinjal Fry in Thick Tomato Sauce”
Iced treats are a great way to cool off in this scorching heat and when humidity is at its worst. Fruit based frozen treats are flavorsome and at the same time guilt-free too. Tropical fruits are definitely my most preferred fruits for making fruit based recipes. If you don’t want to have fruits right away and you think they might get spoiled, best way is to peel and cut them followed by storing them in the freezer in an air-tight freeze-proof container for future use.
This time I decided to use pineapple. The three forms I’ve prepared here have the same recipe, therefore making it very hassle-free to prepare depending on the time you have. Pineapple Cooler takes the least time as you don’t have to wait for it to set. The recipe is tangy, minty with a hint of ginger. It is really refreshing and cooling! Hope you all like it.Continue reading “3 Ways to use Frozen Pineapple”
Sweet. Crunchy. Chocolatey. Orangey.. All these things packed in one Chocolate Bar and that too easily made at home with very simple ingredients. Roasted Oatmeal gives it the required crunchiness in every bite combined with the slight sweetness of condensed milk. It is definitely an interesting plus healthy sweet delight!
As known to all, oatmeal is very well known for its many beneficial factors like it helps lower cholesterol, encourages slow digestion, gluten-free etc. I have used orange flavor cooking chocolate over here for this recipe. Feel free to create your own variations by shaping them differently or using a different flavor cooking chocolate.Continue reading “Homemade Oatmeal Chocolate Bars”
Whenever I crave for donuts, memories always take me back to my initial visit to Tampere, Finland in 2008. Before that I didn’t know what donuts really tasted like and now, they are one of my most favorite edible foods on earth. 😉
There is this very old and famous place in Tampere called Pyynikki. They have a park there named Nakotorni, which has an Observation Tower built in 1929, replaced by the old tower dating back to 1888. The old tower was damaged during the civil war in 1918. There is a lovely café at the bottom of the tower that serves the best bestest donuts (Munkki in Finnish) along with tea/coffee for 2euros.Continue reading “Reviving Old Memories | Mini non-fried Donuts”
Ever gotten high on Chocolate? I sure have 😉
Try making this soft and spongy chocolate cake with Ice-cream and Oreo Biscuits — You’ll know what I’m talking about. This dessert plate will definitely take you to cloud 9.
Baking a cake can be a really daunting thought for a newbie. It sure was for me. I always took help from my sister until one fine day, I finally decided to bake one all by myself. Thankfully, all went well and since then it has just been a cakewalk for me 😉 . Once you understand the basic recipe of the cake, you will be able to experiment with different cake flavors very easily. Everybody has their own personal recipe for their cakes. I took the basic cake recipe from my elder sister and keep making changes accordingly. Hope you all enjoy this version of mine. You can increase the quantity of sugar if you like. I prefer to keep it less.Continue reading “Eggless Chocolate Cake with Ice-cream”
I love hard shell tacos. The crunchiness, juiciness – the combination with all the cheese and the fresh veggies…. It is like a circus going on in your mouth! 😉 Without doubt it is a messy and fun snack to devour. It has been quite a while since I’ve been meaning to make this delightful recipe; the plan just kept on getting delayed. It is a very quick and light recipe to prepare.
Best part about this snack is you are free to add your favorite ingredients like corn, mushrooms, olives, whatever suits your taste buds best. Make these papadums in advance and store them in an air-tight container. Hope you all like the idea. 🙂Continue reading “Easy Hard-Shell Tacos with Papadums/Papad”
Now, why would I name this dish lazy? I could have simply called it Dahi Aaloo (Potatoes cooked with curd) or something like that. It was only after I assembled my ingredients and got down to chopping, I realized I barely had anything to chop for this dish. No peeling and dicing potatoes! Very little chopping involved. Otherwise, in most cases preparing for the dish takes more time than cooking it. It is a perfect recipe for someone is looking for a less preparation dish.Continue reading “Lazy Creamy Potatoes- Indian Style”
Start your day in a different way. What say? 😉
This particular idea just came to me out of the blue! I think it is quite a fun way to pep up the way your sandwich looks. 😉 Give your plain sandwich slice a new twist. You can use different cookie-cutter shapes, involve kids in the kitchen! I am pretty sure they will enjoy making it too…I have used garlic bread here along with a savory filling!
How about dipping your cookie cutter in chocolate sauce for a chocolate (Nutella) sandwich! Dip it in jam for the PBJ Sandwich! I think options become limitless once you begin to use your imagination.
This is what you will need :-
Slices of bread
Sandwich Filling- Tomato, spinach, cottage cheese cubes, onion, butter, green chili, 1 tsp fresh cream, 1 tsp tomato chili sauce, oregano seasoning, salt and black pepper
Heart-Shaped Cookie Cutter
- Dip your cookie cutter into ketchup and place it on your slice HALF way through.
- Place one slice in your non-stick pan. Spread the filling and cover it with another slice. Toast on both sides and serve.
If you are making it for someone special– just for fun you can cut it in two halves and ask them to join it… Just like a fun message! 😉
We all know how well sweet and sour flavors complement each other. Right? This recipe here, is another yummy example of the heavenly sweet and sour combination. This salad is very light on the palate and a great muncher. The Sweet Onion Dressing is more like a thick sauce, well-coated in potatoes and pasta. To be honest, I was attempting to make a normal liquid dressing. It didn’t quite turn out like that though. I think I still need to figure out how to make the actual dressing. Anyhow, this one turned out pretty great for now. The ingredients here blend really well with one another, in turn bringing out a lovely dish to savor or devour rather. 😉Continue reading “Warm Potato and Pasta Salad in Sweet Onion Dressing”
Pasta has always been one of my favorite foods since a very long time. It is so Quick to make and Delicious to eat!
When I was in my teens–new to the kitchen, new to cooking pasta, I couldn’t quite get it right. My pasta was over-cooked and dry to the throat, sauce too less, etc. Slowly and gradually, I came to realize a few pointers to keep handy while preparing pasta. I want to share them with you all, just so to avoid such unpleasant situations. Check Pasta Cooking Tips in the notes below.Continue reading “Spinach, Mushroom and Chili Pepper Sauce with Penne Pasta”
I believe this recipe is a healthy to eat version of a typical cheesecake, as it has no cream. It contains high amount of protein coming from cottage cheese. Click here for my homemade cream cheese recipe. I had an enjoyable time making it and also, looking at the joy it brought on everybody’s face at home was delightful!! 🙂Continue reading “Chocolate Cheesecake”
